Farewell to the King

Directed by John Milius

The fourth collaboration between Poledouris and John Milius. A WWII epic set in Borneo, starring Nick Nolte as an American soldier who becomes king of a jungle tribe, it received a grand and lush orchestral score recalling the sweeping adventure music of Hollywood's golden age — vast, romantic, and emotionally direct.
