Les Misérables

Directed by Bille August

A non-musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's epic novel, starring Liam Neeson, Geoffrey Rush, Uma Thurman, and Claire Danes. Rather than drawing on the famous Boublil-Schönberg musical, Bille August commissioned a fully original orchestral score from Poledouris — a sweeping, romantic work that suited the novel's historical sweep and emotional weight.
