Quigley Down Under

Directed by Simon Wincer

A spirited Western set in the Australian outback, starring Tom Selleck as a long-range rifle marksman. Poledouris and Simon Wincer — who would go on to direct Lonesome Dove and Free Willy — delivered a score of wide-open spaces and old-fashioned heroism that captures both the grandeur of the landscape and the traditional pleasures of the genre.
