For Love of the Game

Directed by Sam Raimi

Sam Raimi's elegiac baseball drama starring Kevin Costner as an aging pitcher throwing the game of his life. Poledouris's score understands the film's themes of time, memory, and grace — music that feels as worn-in and nostalgic as the sport itself, scoring the meditative interiority of a man reflecting on a life's worth of choices.
